I have owned the Vizio V550M TV for about 3 months now, and I must say that it (so far) is the BEST television I have ever owned. I used to be a Sony fan, but no more since HD wide screens started. The first 50" I bought was a Sony KDF Grand Wega series. It went "kaput" in 2 years. Sony replaced the insides after many phone calls, and THAT lasted another 1-1/2 years. I paid $3,500 for that set and it is now sitting at the junk yard. No more Sony's for me. Vizio is an excellent set, and you can get it MUCH cheaper than the prices that are listed here on Amazon. (Sorry about that Amazon. I like you and have bought a LOT of things from your site, but you can buy the Vizio sets much cheaper than what you have listed here for them.) I didn't rate the sound quality because I have a separate surround system. The video inputs are amazing! And so many of them!

Great Deal for a Big Ass TV

Picked this set up at WalMart for a good deal, better price than anything I saw online. Best Buy has a 55" Sanyo for a little bit cheaper, but the specs aren't nearly as good. As for this set, I like it a lot so far. The image quality is great, I like the 120h refresh rate most of the time (it sucks for normal tv, I have to turn it off). But Blu-ray looks fantastic, colors are great after some setting changes. The set is way too bright out of the box, especially if you watch in a typically darker room.
The one thing I wish was a little bit better is the contrast ratio. It lists 50,000:1 dynamic, but I'm really more interested in the static contrast ratio.
Sound is okay, but I'm using surround.
